Paper flowers line the walls
Their edges stained with blood
Each one folded with a whisper
All sealed with a cut
The red ones for my rage inside
Blood I've spilled
The scars you'll find
For the ones who've caused me pain
Broke my heart
Brought me shame
Yellows for my brighter side
My falls to madness
Time to time
For the follies of my fears
For the friends betrayal rears
Blues are for my deep black sea
Waves of depression crash in me
The rocky shores of my manic holds
The shifting sands of distant shoals
The white ones for my time alone
Isolation
This empty home
For the lives that I have lost
My wade through mourning
My bitter cross
The gray ones for my somber eyes
Anxieties that strip me from my life
Hold me down and wall me up
For the ones who stare and judge
The pink ones for my piece of mind
The pieces I can never find
For the edge I stagger on
For the terror
My haunted songs
Paper flowers line the walls
My body is all lined with cuts
My secret garden growing vast
The whispers sealed
My folded past

This is so close to home for me, I connect with all of it, but I could not have written about it better than you have, a wonderful write even thou it has touched many nerves
Wow! Thank you so much! Appreciate your words!
You are very welcome
I love the use of colors in this poem to signify different emotions. This poem runs the gambit and speaks from the heart. Nicely done
Thank you so much!
I absolutely love this idea. Maybe my own secret garden deserves some flowers...some growth or healing. I think I'll visit this poem often, maybe make a flower out of paper instead of papercuts. Thank you for writing this poem
Thank you so much! Appreciate it.
One fold at a time! 🙃
The use of colors as an expression of emotions is brilliant, my friend. I very much related to this! 🌹👏
