Change of Heart.
The search for what I am looking for is no more.
My Mind has found the key and opened the door.
No need to constantly stress as the day passes by.
No more reasons to give up and not want to try.
Bounce out of bed with a huge smile on my face.
Thinking good things instead of feeling a disgrace.
Confident of what the future might have installed.
I get the feeling it's time to have a party after all.
The old anger I felt has gradually drifted far away.
I do not want to move, here I really want to stay.
Always being positive in what I do, wish and think.
I no longer need those pills or that bottle of drink.
If people now try to hurt, offend or dent my pride.
I will just stand proud and take it in my new stride.
No need to build those solid defences even higher.
Usually, I easily quit but now I have become a tryer.
I am moving forward instead of always standing still.
No more glancing over my shoulder against my will.
The constant nightmares are now turned to dreams.
Happiness appears to be now to be alive inside of me.
The lights have been switched on, someone is living.
Is this for real or is it something I have just imagined.

A turn from the dark to the light is felt in this poem. It is uplifting and hopeful. Good rhyme as well punctuates this piece. On a sea of waves sometimes we are in a trough and at others on a crest as the swells of life come and go. Enjoyed it

Understood. I have been there. You think you've finally figured things out, you've "healed", "moved past", know how to cope, etc. Yet, you are not sure if you can really believe it has happened and, as your note points us to, it is indeed short lived. Oh! The ecstasy of freedom, that inherent enthusiasm which grasps the day by its horns and flies. Alas, such charged moments and joys melt like Icarus' wings in the blazing eye of heaven, is it?
