wolf in sheep's clothing

gia

wolf in sheep's skin among the flock

the illusion

of blunted teeth

/ let me in, let me close

clothing peeled from the back of prey and plastered

over wolf's spine

sheep-flesh stretched over furred back

/ i belong here

quiet member of the herd. gentle paws and a closed jaw

wolf in wool, in waiting

/ you are safe with me

wolf in sheep's blood among the smallest

lamb. open jaw and dripping teeth

/ come to me

quivering little white-red thing, orphaned

and gut-soaked

tiny sheep-child, future lamb-corpse

/ i won't hurt you

wolf eyes, sharpened with hunger

slow approach with readied

claws

/ you are safe with me

quiet field, sodden grass. chunks of

wool-skin under wolf-paws. blood black

in the moonlight

/  I am full

curled up among the sheep-death. sleep

with hot-wet fur

/ I am sated

lonely wolf without cattle. desire twisting

in full stomach. wolf-heart an empty, vicious

thing

/ you are safe within me

The duality of this poem speaking from a outside point of view and as the wolf is most unique and lends a whole different perspective to it. Nicely done
