There are Dahlias in my hair;
And maybe a Lily or two;
Their whimsical scent perfumes the air;
They stare at the sky so blue.
There are Trumpet Vines on the wall;
And Hydrangeas hedge the garden;
They greet me softly when I call;
Their bright hues never fail to hearten.

Thank you MinaH for making this one public; I enjoyed the write
super writing. thank you.
The life of flowers resembles
The life of humans.
Both have a date of expiry,
That is written nowhere,
But is still there.
Like flowers,
Our days are numbered.
Thee end will come,
That’s for sure.
It’s for us to leave our mark
Before we go.

“There are flowers that don't bloom,
Before they do, winter overtakes them;
There is life that we can't live,
Before we do, death overtakes us.”
From the Indian song “Zindagi ka safar.”

“Full many a gem of purest ray serene
The dark, unfathom’d caves of ocean bear;
Full many a flower is born to blush unseen
And waste its sweetness in the desert air.
Thomas Gray (1716-1771) : “Elegy written in a country churchyard.”
---
“But pleasures are like poppies spread ---
You seize the flower, the bloom is shed;
Or like snow falls in the river ---
A moment white, then melts forever.
--Robert Burns (1749-1796)
