Lost Souls

Genesis Scher

Where do we belong?

Not alive enough to belong to the living

Not rotten enough to take part in humanities sitting

As always did I find myself longing to belong

Where do we belong?

Not determined enough to part with life

Wondering wether the memories made will suffice

Not brave enough to leave everything behind

Mourning in the deepest depths of my mind

As always I find myself longing to belong

Where do we belong?

Not willing enough to burden my beloved beings

Putting an end to all our seeings

The possibility of possible greetings

Not ignorant enough to waste their effort

The effort, wasteful like water in a desert

As always will I find myself longing to belong

Lost souls, longing to belong

Indeed we all wonder where we belong and some find a spot they think is there's only to find it is not others are lucky enough to rest where they are until they die. I think we all belong where we are. A thought provoking poem.
