YOU AND ME

nephilim56 ( Norman Dickson)

If I could have kept
When moonlight slept
A token of your warmth
When we were one
Sunshine it shone
Into deeper peace
A warming glow
This I know.

A shadow fell
Loneliness to tell
Of deeper days
In many ways
Quiet moments
Hand in hand
Like children
On moving sand.

Night became
Just the same
Curtains drawn
Cold not warm
Hours bathed
I could not see
What became
Of you and me ?
