Farmer

Devender Kumar

feeds all the creatures,
keeps working day and night,
not famous like preachers,
bravely fights but not a  knight,
like a great juggler lives,
every work for him but  a bet,
every  gain for him but a loss,
with nature gossip day and night
clay and cloud, thorn and flowers,
white fly, red mite and blight,
numberless are sworn enemies.
birds, wild animal with all fight,
keeps living but every day hope dies,
but only a body hanging a tree at last.

Farmers have it tough. A great poem to them and maybe a metaphor as well. Very powerful
