I gave U my heart, I thought it was safe,
In your hands, I placed it, no fear of disgrace.
But shadows loomed close, beneath your sweet smile,
Deception was lurking, hidden all the while.
Your words were like honey, but poison in disguise,
The truth, a sharp dagger, concealed in your lies.
I see now the danger, the bullet I missed,
Escaping your grasp, from a serpent’s cold kiss.
My heart, though wounded, is wiser and free,
From the chains of your treachery, I'm now meant to be.
I gave U my heart, but I’ve taken it back,
Dodging a bullet on a treacherous track

I particularly loved the meter and rhyme of this poem that is good enough to be set to music. The message was well communicated and you used good imagery to convey it. Very nicely done
