GOODBYE FRIEND

nephilim56 ( Norman Dickson)

Upon silent wings
You flew away
At nights end
Birth of day.
A day that you
Are absent from
My dear friend
Where have you gone ?

No more pain
Despite the fight
Thin and frail
An unwelcome sight
Upon white linen
We said goodbye
I travelled home
You entered sky.

Those silent wings
Speed upon
To take my friend
His journey now begun
To a better place
I hope its so
A gentle place
He must go.

Oh how I hope my loved ones are in a gentle place. This was touching. Im sorry for your loss.

Saying goodbye is a difficult thing sometimes but less so if we feel that the other is going to a good place. This poem speaks of this. Nicely written

This is awfully sad yet beautifully composed. Of a friend lost but the friendship lives on in this warm-hearted poem. Of those bereft of friendship would find succour in your words, as I have. Thank you very much.

    Kind regards,
    Tony.

    Inspiring... hopeful laced in sorrow...

I really like this. I can relate bc my dad is dying of terminal cancer in the hospital. Great write. Great rhyme and rhythm. I especially like the line "you entered sky".
