Soulful Breath

Libellule

Predawn breeze tickles the blinds
their laughter rouses our drowsy eyes
ginger light trickling in all around
this pillow shared by two warm spoons

Deft fingers caress my bared skin
tracing paths along the treasure map
revealing secret places, blissful vistas
before beckoning a headlong plunge

Eyelids reclose as faces gently turn
lips nibble down my tingling nape
our bodies press then melt together
as once again I tangle up in you

Tender entwinement binds yet releases
greedy mouths reclaim each exhale
only to give back even deeper

becoming the only air we will ever need
