Noah Sleeps

rrodriguez

In the quiet time of day,
a small soul rests sound asleep.
Lying softly on his right side,
He sleeps in peace, serene and deep.

A tender face, so pure, so clean,
softened by an innocent gleam.
With slumber's grace, he softly lies,
wrapped in a blanket of perfect peace.

So sound asleep, so deeply calm,
held by grandma's loving balm.
A tender gift from heaven's hand,
Our Noah sleeps—a blessing grand.

  • Comment from author about the poem: My wife sent me a picture of our grandson sleeping peacefully. Lying on his right side, his face reflects pure serenity and deep rest. He looks so tender and clean. Inspired by this touching image, I wrote this poem.

There is nothing as peaceful and calm as a sleeping child, nothing so full or innocent joy if only we could all be this way. Grand children are the blessing after one pays the price or raising children. A lovely poem
