Transactional

Midnight Lasagna

I want to be loved,

But I plead to be stoic

Betrayal of self

No longer a poet

Let me be calm

Love endless and pure

No need to desire

Betrayal long cured

But alas, I’m of flesh

Heartstrings strummed loud

Needing simple retribution

Not a head in the clouds
