i write because the words
don’t stay put unless i let them wander;
sometimes for you,
sometimes for me,
but mostly because they need to move.
i don’t know where they go
but they always find something
to say.
this isn’t just for you,
or just for me.
it’s for all the things we can’t speak out loud
until they’re written down.
