I walked away
I sit with loneliness each and every day,
no forgiving myself for walking away.
Together we reminisce and softly confide,
it's the depression I hear and can't hide.
I walked away head down and lowered myself,
leaving your presence ignoring my views health.
Still at my lowest, still living my worst day,
waking from the sight of me walking away.
No words of forgiveness comes to be,
no explaining the sights you now see.
Loneliness walked with me, on that day,
I walked head down, I walked away.

Honestly assessing a situation that has gone wrong, accepting one's part in it and correcting it for the next time is the most mature manner of growth. A most lovely write.
