Truth

Pineapple_pizza018

The truth shall set you free

That's what they've said to me

But the truth can also weigh you down

They haven't seen what I've seen

I'm breaking the cycle now

I'm tired of staying quiet

I'm so done living in silence

I'm tired of the same old thing

People talking over me

I just need room to breathe

These thoughts are suffocating

I'm so filled with hope

I'm finding new ways to cope

I ignored all the warning signs

I haven't forgotten

That I still need to explore with caution

I'm nowhere near the line

So, I know I haven't crossed it

I know how far I've gotten

And how far I can go

I won't go too fast nor too slow

Call me bold

Cause I'm aware of the path I've chosen

The path may be cold

But it's not frozen

There's no need in worrying

I know what fate will bring

I want to feel alive

I don't want to just survive

You are so right, the truth may not set you free if you confess to a crime. A great write
