Loss

E Naughton

I see the shock,

Like life shook loose from you,

But not your own.

Envy at the pain,

Plain as day upon your mouth,

Sadness of summer days,

Wonders at the aching ways.

Look past yourself,

Look past the pain,

To see what only such a full life leaves,

A loss so vast,

It echoes in the air,

A testament to love held dear.

You depict well the loss of someone or something so significant. And then the advice that one can not hear at the time but is so true to look through the pain. A lovely well written poem
