their lives are real
their lives are before you
their lives are real
their lives are before you
their lives are real
their lives are before you
their lives are real
their lives are before you
all their truths
no longer adore Yah
forgive this sin
all of the fallen (human)
do not turn away
but believe them
do not doubt the truth
that is in them

- Comment from author about the poem: one problem with mental health care is it does not (seem to) always believe in people (fallen, growing, changing, adapting, affected), but in problems. in etities as if it were, removed from humanity's struggles and lack of struggle with all that is their life and being. but we are human, not labels, not diseases, not removed from real life and are not angels just yet. that could take many lives (some say), or a lot of faith (others say). just some thoughts at the moment.

This is a very strong poem and the use of repetition is a good tool used to emphasize its importance but it is the power of the comment from the author that gains the fave. In many years of mental health work I have always maintained that too much is lost in categorization of people. We all have bits and pieces of symptoms and statistics or how far one falls from the norm and the arbitrary cut off of standard deviations from the mean taken as qualification for mental illness is too artificial and cold to encompass humanity. A lovely write.
This poem, my friend, speaks the cold, hard, stark truth. Well done in its form and its message, as well as the comment that bolsters it. 💯🌹👏 Well done! This is an important poem.
A powerful and truthful write, mental health is not as easy as just putting people into categories, nicely expressed and written
