FORGOTTEN

nephilim56

She whispers
A quiet prayer
Hoping he will
Still be there
In the hospital bed
Where now it seems
To be his home
His hopes and dreams.

The man she married
Left long ago
Doesnt recognise her
Or feelings show
The happy years
The childrens births
Christmas past
Life on this earth.

She sits
Upon opposite chair
By his bed
Pats his hair
He pushes with haste
Her hand away
This stranger
Who has lost his way.

a poem that is sad, but still finds hope...

Sad and tragic a loss before the loss a death before the death. So nicely set in this poem and spiced with rhyme it tells its story of forgetfulness. A fave
