Caterpillar's Journey to Freedom

Moumita

She is me

She will arose again,

From the ashes of my pain,

This caterpillars creeps around,

But I didn't let them roam

For I am strong and will never falter,

So now they are haunting me even more,

This is me, now I'm taking my last earthly breath

My wounds are deep and I have fought my fate,

I feel the valkyrie's embrace, her wings spread wide,

We soar above the fray, leaving the earth behind,

Heave-ho, valkyrie's come to take me far away,

From the battleground and its sorrow and the sad day

She will carry me to Valhalla

Where I'll live again, I'll find my frelsi

And I'll let this caterpillars free to roam and creeps then.

I love how you have incorporated mythology in this poem and have integrated it with a life form so distant. A lovely poem and a fave for the metaphor of metamorphosis

This is a fine piece with subtle lines as well as great depth and inner strength, it made me think a tiny bit of the Merseburg charms where the Valkyrie are summoned to help bring healing and new strength. To weave into the shape of a caterpillar is a highly creative achievement. Much enjoyed!
