I wish

MinaH

I wish to die;

Not because I'm depressed;

I wish to die;

For the peace God brings;

For the love only He can give.

I wish to die;

For this life is dreary;

For I still am only surviving.

I wish to die;

For death doesn't scare me;

In fact it seems so inviting.

I wish to die;

For I love you too much;

And I'd be so much happier.

    A most interesting write. Death doesn't bother me pain does. A read that assumes from the last stanza that one loved is dead. Good write

          I like to think that death isn't the final goodbye, but rather a new beginning. Though, admittedly I still question just exactly what happens after we die. Whether there is some form of afterlife, or a long, tired return to the abyss, the uncertainty of it all does bring some anxiety and existential dread to the mix.
          I guess it wouldnt really matter anyways in the end haha. Either way, one will find themselves with some much needed rest when their time comes. Excellent poem, mate. 🤘
