Drinks & Drugs

Pineapple_pizza018

Drinking and drugs don't go together

I knew it wouldn't last forever

Because nothing does

It wasn't love

Love is something you chose every day

And drinks and drugs is the choice he made

He chose it over you

I know it hurts but it's the truth

You say it's alright

But it doesn't seem that way right now

Love is blind

But I think it's the other way around

You were blinded my love

Every word that came out of his mouth

You believed

But he lies with such ease

It's like first nature for him

He's not sorry for what he did

But the truth is this

When you chose love

He bought more drinks and drugs

A most sad poem of addiction that becomes the choice over love and how despite what we wish addiction is stronger. Well expressed in this poem of losing what one never had.

  • Poetic Licence

Sad and touching write around addiction and however hard they try the addiction will always win, nicely expressed and written
