LOVE

nephilim56 ( Norman Dickson)

If in sorrow
I find you
In thoughts
And in dreams
I often
Resent you
For what
Could have been.

Your betrayal
An arrow
Tipped in poison
To my heart
When tears
Became babies
Forever lost
In the dark.

Moments to tremble
When I hear your name
Repeated in circles
Who know not my pain
In hours long drawn
A heartbeat upon
A lonely remiss
Your kiss lingers on.

It is the combination of the meter, flow and rhyme together with the message that gets the fave in this remarkable poem evoking a sense of emotional sadness over what could have and should have been. Lovely
