Cross Your T's and Dot Your I's

maydanae

Cross your t's and dot your i's

Do not despise the waves of tides

That crash and flow

Winds blow your sailboat

far beyond all that you know

Heading for the horizon

Do not look back now

When you turned your back then

Try to make amends

Pleading with the Heavens

For now, do not celebrate

Before checkmate is finalized

Otherwise, you may lose crucial pieces

Right in front of your eyes

You must dot

When you try to tease

You must cross

The use of chess and the doting of i's and crossing of t's is a most interesting metaphor for making decisions in this life. Well done
