I remember

HollyGolightly

I remember getting dressed up for you but you never noticed

Why? Was my pretty face too familiar?

But hers wasn't when you blinked at her in code

I remember making hot meals to make you happy

But her attention meant more ?

Cleared phone

On Silent all the time

Yet I was dying to be loved by you

So why couldn't you?

Was it the way I walked, talked and acted ?

I guess I was never enough

If so why did you stay so long ?

Why take the love from me ? If you didn't love me ?

These questions will be always be unanswered

And I'll always feel inadequate as my love was never enough

Sad even tragic it bleeds on the page and cries out to the reader in raw and letters as an undercooked relationship that is served with cold hurtful sauce. Well written a fave
