THE WOMAN AROUND THE CORNER

nephilim56

She seeks refuge
In another day
Her habit takes
Her pain away
Beyond the fabric
Of others eyes
To diamond stars
Other skies.

Her time is night
Shoplifting done
She grafts so hard
Now the fun
A nether world
Where music plays
Her own kind
Where someone cares.

Needle to arm
Leg or throat
23 years years old
Her mind to soak
In violent waters
Life unfolds
Silence in
A drug fuelled cloak.

In few words a self destructive addiction depicted in such poetic form. Well worded and great poetic images with metaphor and some rhyme. Very nicely done and a fave
