Can I Have That Pound In Your Hand.

Hi please can you possibly help kind man

Could you spare that pound in your hand

I'm hungry and I could do with a hot drink

I know I am a mess, and that I really stink

Take a moment, please try to understand

I really need that old pound in your hand

Sorry I am not an alcoholic or drug addict

No, I am not a tramp or a greasy maggot

just a man who is a little down on his luck

Living on the streets homeless and broke

So, man have you now tried to understand

Please can I have that pound in your hand.

Charity such a wonderful topic and struck at so keenly with this poem. I used to be tight but my wife taught me to be nonjudgmental and more giving. She would give to all. A very wonderful poem Tobani.

The pristine beauty of this pretty number is the fact of the item requested. I've been asked to spare our currency, and only one dollar at that, except I am a member of the cashless society, nor have even that much in cash. It's all cards and only plastic. This is too gorgeous, I love it! Rendered in seeming simplicity, it has a frankness which charms irresistibly, the imagery superb, and its haunting poignancy lingering. Thank you for sharing.

Well written. I love how you put the reader into the shoes of the homeless, the impoverished, the shunned. Thank you for sharing Natiella! Have a great evening, my friend! πŸŒΉπŸ‘
