The heat
Fight or flight is a choice for sure,
having thoughts suddenly heated pure.
Stand your ground and stay put,
do not move even a single foot.
Head high and take it on the chin,
allow it to scrape and cut the skin.
The blood may drip to your held feet,
just stay put and take the heat.
Only those that don't know their self,
are afraid to risk or damage their health,
afraid to stand firm they take on flight.
Be one of those that stands and fights,
damaged thoughts from past battles won,
just always never turn and run.
Be not afraid of what's after death,
stand and face your last heated breath.
You may be getting old and might take a seat,
but never should you run away from the heat.

A great poem about courage, pluck, grit, standing up for oneself and what one wants and believes. Very nice
