she will not breathe

DeadRose

Breathe, they say to breathe, to breathe

Oh how i long to breathe

To soak up the early summer suns cool rays

And waltz in the midday fields of

Emerald grass in the backyard why must

I exist in a box of self imposed confinement?!

But for if i breathe i fear i will be left behind,

That i will not be able to achieve all the

Hopes and dreams and my passion of

Learning, yearning, daring,

Daring to do everything at all and being my own self

I shall lose myself if i breathe for a moment

Do you understand, why it is, that

I cannot breathe?

That i will not allow myself

To breathe?

That to breathe is to accept failure and as strongheaded i am

I cannot accept such a fate, such a loss, after so much success?

Have i worked for absolutely nothing then, if all i have left is to

Just breathe??

Then, i shall say, i have wasted my years.

All my years.

I could have been a child.

I am afraid to breathe.

From the root to breath came the word to be alive and so it is one must breath to be alive and to be alive is to breath. A very identifiable poem.
