Sparkle-Dust

Muse of Calliope

Sparkle; I’m a speck of dust

Floating in the air,

Glittering in the afternoon sun

Shining through the window.

It’s remarkable;

how we are so many,

Uncountable

As grains of sand or dust,

Blown about

By the winds of time and change,

For change we must.

Particle;

I am merely a quasi-particle,

One of so many “I”s;

A link in a chain in time--

Can I hold the entirety

 Of interlinking chains of reality

 In my mind?

I am too small to see it all;

I am not a bird- I have no wings

To fly far above for a better view

But still I reach for my narrow telescope

To peer into

What I can see

Of the mystery

Of the universe;

Into all the dust clouds

And all the suns

And all the galaxies;

 Into every one.

    It is both the message and the manner it was written that get the fave. Such a great metaphor we often think we know so much but we know so little and only from our perspective. We are indeed dust. Loved it

    A wonderful write reminding us though at times we think we know it all, we actually know very little, beautifully written, enjoyed the read

      Thank you! Indeed, it often seems science like has dissected just about everything in the universe…..but there is so much left to discover 🌌 💫💥
