Watering Hole

Libellule

Here, everyone plays their role,
down at the bustling watering hole,
coming from all around the town
to gather as the sun sinks down.

To share a drink, to watch and wait,
as twilight paints all of our fate,
beneath an orange and crimson sky,
answering all of our questions why.

While gazelles drink their fill,
lions in the shadows sit ever still,
watching elephants on parade,
as night slips softly into its shade.

As if life takes a momentary break,
leaving a jovial wisdom in its wake.
