Scoped and Programmed
You do what they told you.
Killing in the name of a machine,
killing for another's dream,
killing to hear the scream,
wearing a countries colors of green.
You do what they told you.
Don't use their excuses.
You pull the trigger,
you are the grenade rigger,
you make the count bigger,
you employ the grave digger.
Don't use their excuses.
You are the sinner in front of me,
you are the believer who can't see,
you are their programed soldier to be,
and now your giving your life to me.
You do what they told you,
your just a number to me.
You do what they told you,
a programmed soldier I be.
You do what they told you,
and through the scope I see.
A moment #67
I need to ask you a question at some point,
it is important to understand it's meaning.
It's result will question our connecting joint.
I need to talk with you and commence convening.
You never speak towards the words I say,
staring silently back forwards to my eyes.
I need to ask you a question some day,
perhaps you will respond before I try.
For now I turn and walk away from you,
reach up and flick off the lights spark.
Away from the reflection I had in my view,
we're leaving the mirror empty and dark.

- Comment from author about the poem: The tune "Killing in the Name" by: R.A.T Machine, its message still runs true today. The second one, well who doesn't talk to their reflection.

Both with powerful meaning. Reflections indeed. There are important questions we need to ask of ourselves and no one else can answer. Very nice.
