A Prolix Heart
I loved you too much
my prolix heart obsessed
It was too easily undressed
I gave more than touch
If you don't believe me,
pack your heart up and leave me.
Alone to wonder about you,
was it more or you?
I loved you too much
Hearts easily set ablaze,
In love's pernicious ways.
I still love you too much.
My mind lay quixotic
Time heals the toxic,
I will love you again.

- Comment from author about the poem: We habitually "love" others too much but ourselves not enough, we infatuate over what we hope will reciprocate and fill the voids we may or may not recognize.

Love of an imaginary image greater that the real thing can lead to problems. A lovely write
The ever over grown imagination believing that to love someone with everything, we will get the same in return, making up for the lack of love we have for ourselves, wonderful write
