You can call all the doctors
From the nearby hospital.
Even the helicopters.
No, it will not end well.
Can you see those ravens
Between the docks and ships?
The welcoming haven
Looks like your baddest trip.
You’re not from here,
Not from town.
You look so dear
In that gown.
The thing you sold at the pawnshop
For two twenty-dollar bills,
I bought from that bastard Earnshaw
Too late, as the time reveals…
You’re not from here,
Not from now.
You should have steered
Way around…

I feel a very relatable write to many out there, I have certainly many times felt like an alien, enjoyed the read
Thanks! I myself left my homeland 10 years ago, and though I find it one of the best decisions I made in my life, it's inevitably hard, and uncomfortable at times. But it teaches you to be good to people unlike yourself. After all, we're all lookalikes in our uniqueness.
So very true, enjoy the rest of your day
I love the tone that this is written in. It speaks to the reader breaking the fourth wall so to speak. There is a discontented and somewhat angry tone to it as of one that realizes they have made a mistake. A most fun read and quite entertaining but also it seems a deeper meaning about alienation as well.
Thanks! It already sounds in me as a song, I'm just waiting to get home from work to start working on the melody.
Friend, I have lived my entire life an alien in one form or another. Powerful poem, Victor. A fave!
Thanks, much appreciated! And sending hugs!
You are most welcome. Thank you for the hugs. 🥰
