Rest

Lou

“Rest your head” he calls me to my throne.

Taps his chest as if imitating his heartbeat.

I lay myself down and the familiar, calm appears.

The smooth rhythm swells in my brain.

Encompasses my consciousness and I am at ease again.

A lovely poem of belonging and being and that that is enough. Well titled.
