In The Abyss

Muse of Calliope

I am sad, alone, and lost.

I should have known,

Should have counted the cost;

I am sad, alone, and lost.

Again, again; again I am tossed

Until, until, my eyes they are glossed

And in the abyss, all covered in frost

I am sad, alone, and lost.

    A poem of extreme isolation and alienation. Feelings of being lost and without meaning. Very well expressed.

    Surely transported me back to those cold dark days! Splendid πŸ•ŠπŸ™πŸ»

      Thank you arqios! What a peculiar time the lockdown was.

        Indeed it was. In a way it helped clarify poetry in my life. It’s one of the first of the arts to get cast away but Covid had something else coming. πŸ™πŸ»πŸ•Š
