Long game

Keeter C

The long game.
How do I reconcile the coming inevitable pain with the joy on the other side?
The nihilist in me says “Peace, Peace but there shall be no peace.”
The faithful eternal optimist in me “Says it’s Coming.”
Will we weather the storm?
Is a safe harbor to be found?
I see a multitude of blind eyes.
The wolves exist still masked.
No empire lasts forever.
Long have we benefited from its graces.
Please protect us when it’s erased.
Please let me fend for those as needed or let them fend for me.
