You don't have to lie toward me.
If you really want to do it, that's nice.
... but don't fall on your sword for me.
Don't try to sugar coat anything,
when you have bad news for me.
Because being condescending,
is the worst you could ever be.

This piece isn’t like you , is everything ok?
I hear a strong plea for honesty in this poem that cries out for knowing where a person stands. Nicely written in verse.
A sense of being let down by someone, prefer honesty then playing mind games, nicely expressed
