Vermilion Victory

Narayan Gadagkar

The Vermilion that adorns Indian woman’s forehead

Sent message to terrorists those beheaded their beloveds

To all the daughters of mother India, Vermilion the Sindhoor

Has story of valour rather than just a dot on forehead to adore.

A precious custom to apply the scarlet red  on the forehead above

Not just a formal mark but for the couple, a token of divine love

Symbolises the power and purity of inseparable soulmates delight

The butchers who tried to erase the vermilion, had to bite the dust.

Shooting at point blank the innocent men on parochial belief

The brutality by the monsters sneaked from across the border

Made women widows, the children orphan, the perverse pleasure

Radicalised bigots were groomed by neighbouring enemy country.

Vermilion turned to operation Sindhoor with military power

Bombarded with precision strikes and ammunition shower

Pulled down the terror infrastructure across the border

Punctured the airbases making them defunct forever.

The great Indian warriors disciplined, brave, and bold

Wiped out the barbarians, the backers, and the zealots

In the wee hours, razed to the ground the terror hideouts

A battle won for truth and right is worth the devastation it costs

Glorious victory of operation Sindhoor the vermilion, it boasts.
