The Russian Luliiby after Ivan Larionoff

Ksey_Gan

Guelder-rose, Guelder-rose,  cherry!

There's  a raspberry in the garden, my raspberry!

Ah, under the pine tree, under the green pine,

Put me to sleep calmly, guys!

Songing a lullaby,songing a lullaby,

Put me to sleep calmly, guys!

Guelder-rose, Guelder-rose, cherry.

There's  a raspberry in the garden, my raspberry!

Ah, you green scratchy pine tree,

Don't make rustling noise over me!

Song a lullaby, song  a lullaby,

Don't make noise over me.

Guelder-rose, Guelder-rose, Cherry!

There's  a raspberry in the garden, my raspberry!

Ah, my beautiful  soul-maiden,

Love me just for my inner man.

Song a lullaby, song  a lullaby

Love me again.

Guelder-rose, Guelder-rose, Cherry!

There's a raspberry in the garden, my raspberry.

Such a poetic lullaby indeed that is a bit dark with each verse a song of death it seems. I loved it.
