Pain

Salian

The pain I feel doesn't come from a sprain,
It's the kind you feel in the pouring rain.
The pain I feel comes with a loss,
The kind that usually comes at a cost.

It's silent at night, yet loud in my chest,
It steals my sleep, denies me rest.
Not bruises or breaks, but wounds unseen,
A shadow that lingers where light has been.

A heart once full now echoes hollow,
Each step I take feels hard to follow.
I smile for the world, but inside I ache,
Carrying grief I can't seem to shake.

But even in sorrow, there's strength I find,
In memories held and love left behind.
The pain may stay, but so will I—
Still standing beneath a heavy sky.

Expressing the pain and sorrow they are carrying inside, but also that it will not beat them or hold them back, nicely expressed and written

A place that most of us have been before. This poem speaks with pain but also resolve and in acceptance facing reality. Nicely worded
