Mutley Ravishes

How many times

Do you have to be defeated

Before you realize

You are depleted

Of power?

Little one, shake a rattle

At the snake

It's gonna bite you

Anyways why not call on

The power that rotates

The Earth

Gives birth to the universe-

Much to think about in this metaphor of metaphors where what appears is not. Backward thoughts and expected phrases give this poem spice and the rattle and snake reminds me of when my youngest son was three and was found playing with a poisons snake that never bit him. And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice' den. Isaiah 11:8 A fave

Thanks for the quote from Isiah! I guess the snake sensed the absence of any threat from your son? (and he didn't annoy it too much?!)

Nicely done, Mutley and great title too.

Thanks, Tom. It’s fun to take a word and see if Imagination can come up with a “new“ one!

        Powerful work.
