Tough Crowd

Tough Crowd

Pondering about jokes,My favourite thing to do. Just cross my fingers and hope they'll laugh about it too.

In my imagination, They all laugh hysterically. But in reality,They stare at me embarassingly.

I dont get it, i concoted a good joke! But all that got me was some shade and some smoke, and some eerie silence that made me wanna pack up and go, and take all my jokes to some, jollier folks and watch them laugh hysterically at my jokes. So i dont have to look at blank faces and say tough crowd as they side eye me like a white guy at powwow.

  • Comment from author about the poem: I really like making jokes and ima VERY funny person, but also mildly sensitive (the smallest bit) so I hate when people dont make a reaction to my funny remarks.

A brave revelation that exposes the fear we all have of other's reactions to our comments. Very nicely written.
