heights

Yael Olalde-Garcia

i’ve reached heights—

and they

    are still writing lullabies

they spent too much on their pseudonym

and have forgotten the clear line between

art—

and imitation to rebuttal

that it’s almost too kind to call them: talentless

that warns they ever had a diaphragm

large enough to hold any talent

Wow! what a dig. There seems to be a good deal of resentment here and the view of others as talentless and not to be respected. I hear the spite in this poem. Well written and powerful

you always show up with something honest to say. maybe there is resentment, or maybe it’s just what happens when someone writes without apology. either way, thank you for the kind words
