I kept but forgot

Pamela

I kept the past but forgot the present

I kept the lie but forgot the truth

I kept the hatred but forgot the love

I kept the problem but forgot the answer

I kept the dream but forgot reality

I kept living but forgot to live

I kept pretending but forgot to stop

And suddenly I became

someone I'm not

A poetic expression of the person that focus' on the negative and forgets the positive. Well written and a fave

How we hang to the negatives in life oblivious to how they eventually change us to someone we don't want to be, nicely expressed and written
