I hear their voices in the distance
calling my name
taunting me with whispers in the wind
as life dangles darkness before me.
My tears have become their pain
with each drop of memories past.
Echoes scream yet, silence fills the air
except for the loud beating of my heart
pumping blood vastly through my veins.
I often wonder if they feel my soul
as it cries with loneliness.
Do they know my fear it denies?
Will they guide me to the other side
where they gather waiting for me to join them
or will this journey be mine alone as
I stumble every step of the way?
I wander in awe at their bravery
as they made their way to destiny.
Was their travel worth the miles to
reach final destination or
does the sky still cry singing a
song of sorrow?
Can the aroma of fresh flowers
be smelled in the spring time air?
Hand in hand they wait with anticipation
as I foolishly run to them.
I weep longing for their comfort
in hopes they will embrace me once more
sheltering me from the passing storm.
A gentleness fills me with warmth
as I feel the glow of peace.
I stand alone on this path, staring
at the distance with uncertainty.
Yet, I will whistle as I skip down this
road before me for not one stranger waits
for me with open arms, welcoming me to the
other side.

The feeling of isolation and alienation but the view of it as liberating and setting one free to choose as one may. A lovely poem
Thank you for reading me soren, means a lot to ,me.
A sense of the travelling down the path of loneliness, with anticipation that they may might be making it to the other side, asking will they still be on there own or will someone be there to greet them, nicely expressed and written
