False hope

Midnight Lasagna

If maybe, if maybe

garden beds were sheltered

If only, if only

The wood didn’t rot

If somehow, if somehow

The seeds gently sprouted

Have mercy, please mercy

The roots couldn’t take

  • Comment from author about the poem: I think I’m actually losing my mind but it’s chill. I can’t tell if my metaphors are too obvious. I can’t tell if they’re eye roll inducing or tolerable. Can’t be confident in my voice or style yet. I’m tired.

A metaphor indeed and from its seed I have to ask if there was root rot. Nicely done

The seed took route long enough to make the mind think, enjoyed the read
