First Love

NAZIA ZAHRA

Wandering around my mind seems to ponder,
how come love could be a wonder,
I foolishly run towards it without aim,
not a single thought in my brain.

Is it like the cherry blossom season,
that's comforting without any reason,
Is it warm like beside the cinder,
these feelings always seem to linger.

It always makes me wait,
though even now i can't seem to hate,
I listen to it ramble,
all my decisions now merely at gamble.

For i see how you hold onto others,
when u ignore me as a bother,
Even though it pains me much to see,
at least for once please see me.

Pat my back look at me please,
oh, my love, my comfort, my destiny.

  • Comment from author about the poem: This poem, even though i have not experienced romantic love but is related to my first true love i.e. my mother. Even though she might not be able to see it much from me but the reason to me still living is her. Even if she doesn't want that. Despite what happens i never seem to be able to hate her. Love you ama

We all need love and a mother's love is the starting point. If one receives unconditional love from one's mother one can learn it oneself for oneself and for others. A lovely write
