I don't understand you,
You make me feel overly cautious.
I want to understand you,
So put down your walls -
I won't hurt you.
To understand,
I need to study.
Your behavior is confusing,
Yet I feel compelled to know more.
I want to understand you,
But you won't let me.
I want to love you,
But you're making it hard for me.
I don't know what you want,
So tell me -
Communicate.
I want to see you vulnerable.
Maybe then I can understand you.
You seem so difficult to talk to,
Yet I want to know you.
Pull down your walls,
Let me in and communicate.

- Comment from author about the poem: This poem is about my experience with men. To me, men are hard to talk to; it seems that they have their defenses up at all times. I want to know how they feel, with no filters, no facades. I want to understand men better.

A plea for openness and understanding. Not understanding that such openness may lead to rejection due to needs and desires being so different. Well written
On hand a plea for a chance to understand and know someone better, which also highlights the defensive nature of some people, who fear letting there guard down will cost them dearly, nicely expressed and written
