Ruined

Damaso

The habit
of hurting me.
I come back dirty,
empty,
peeled.
Is it my fault?

The shadow
that has accompanied me
for as long as I can remember.
Each blow
cracks the dome,
the inhabitants...

ruined by pain.

A deep message in this poem dark and foreboding it speaks to the doubt and questioning or ourselves that reside in all of us. Lovely
