End of the Road

KTay

Take me back

Take me home

Take me away

From this road

I need to rest

I need to sleep

I need to stop

So I can breathe

I have no strength

I have no fight

I have no way

Through the night

Just take me home

It would be nice to see you for awhile

Just take me back

Across 4000 miles

It's been so long since I've been with you

It's been so long since I have seen your face

It's been so long that I have missed you

It's been so long that it might be too late

All of the years that we have wasted

All of the time we let pass us by

All of the hate that we've been keeping

All of the shame that restrains our hi's

It's been so long since I have hugged you

It's been so long since I have heard your words

It's been so long that I can't remember

It's been so long that it's just absurd

All of the lines that we've been breaking

All of the drugs that have numbed our minds

All of the ones that we have failed

All of the lives that have said goodbye

It's been so long since I forgave you

It's been so long since I slipped away

It's been so long that I can't take it

It's been so long that I am not okay

I can't keep going down

This lonely road

I just can't take it

Please take me home

I need to settle

I need some peace

I need to reconnect

With my family

I've been travelling on

For way too long

Lost so many

Of the ones I loved

I need release

The cage is cold

I need the finish

I'm coming home

Across the space divide

4000 miles

A great write in the literal sense and also if taken metaphorically well done
